Gunung Gede - Pangrango located in West Java. Pangrango Gede Mountain National Park is one of five national parks in Indonesia was first exposed in 1980. Natural state of typical and unique, making the National Park of Mount Gede-Pangrango as a natural laboratory that attract the interest of researchers for a long time.
The area has two peaks, namely Mount Gede and Mount Pangrango 2958 3019 masl masl. The two peaks are connected a saddle valley named Cage Rhino 2393 masl.

Gede National Park Ecosystem - Pangrango
Pangrango Gede Mountain National Park has a diversity of ecosystems composed of sub-montane ecosystems, montane, sub-alpine, lakes, swamps, and savannas. Sub-montane ecosystems are characterized by a number of large trees and tall like jamuju (Dacrycarpus imbricatus), and flower (Schima walliichii). While the sub-Alphin ecosystem characterized by the presence of overgrown grass plains Isachne pangerangensis, flowers Eidelweis (Anaphalis javanica), violet (Viola pilosa), and Cantigi (Vaccinium varingiaefolium).
Nonhuman primates are endangered and are in the National Park of Mount Gede-Pangrango the gibbon (Hylobates moloch), Javan (Presbytis comata comata), and ebony leaf monkey (Trachypithecus auratus auratus) and other rare animals such as leopards (Panthera pardus melas), Java porcupine (Hystrix brachyura brachyura), deer (Muntiacus muntjak muntjak), and ferrets yellow throat (Martes flavigula).
National Park of Mount Gede-famous Pangrango rich in various species of birds as many as 251 types of the 450 species that exist in Java. Some types of rare birds including the eagle Java (Spizaetus bartelsi) and owls (Otus angelinae).
National Park of Mount Gede-Pangrango declared by UNESCO as a Biosphere Reserve in 1977, and the Sister Park with Taman Negara in Malaysia in 1995.
Climbing Rules Gede - Pangrango
· Reporting to the clerk at the entrance and at the exit. Officers will check your luggage and gear your permission before and after the climb.
· Prohibited animals and plants brought in from outside the region TNGGP.
· Prohibited to feed the animals.
· Not allowed to make a fire in the area, except at the location that has been allowed.
· Prohibited damaging, moving, scribbling infrastructure in the region.
· Prohibited picking, moving, and taking plants from the area.
· Do not run outside the path / track a specified principal.
· Do not throw trash and leave the area, take your trash when it comes down from the mountain.
· Prohibited bring shampoo, soap, toothpaste and other detergent ingredients that can pollute ground water.
· Prohibited carry radios, musical instruments, alcohol, and drugs into the area.
For anyone who wants to climb to Mount Gede and Pangrango SIMAKSI required to obtain a permit at the Office of the Great Hall of the National Park of Mount Gede Pangrango (TNGGP) to make booking in advance. Maximum length of the climb was 2 days 1 night.
To reduce the negative impact to the environment and to experience while climbing satisfactory, then TNGGP establish a quota system, which is 600 climbers per day through 3 entrances to the division: Cibodas 300, Gunung Putri 200 people, and 100 people Selabintana.
Terms Climb Gede - Pangrango
1. Each climber must show a permit, and permits can be obtained at the Office of the Great Hall at Cibodas TNGGP. Filing climbing permit use booking system with minimum submission deadline is 3 (three) days and a maximum of 1 (one) month before the date of the climb.
Note: Overseas Tourists are advised to make booking in advance, but in order to increase foreign tourist arrivals and foreign tourists visit the weighing time is limited, so tourists can get a permit at the Central Office on the day TNGGP want to climb.

Foreigners who show their ID cards or Permit can obtain the same ticket prices with local tourists.
3. Submit a copy of an official ID (Passport / National ID / Permits / SIM / Student Card / Student). Photocopies will not be returned.

Equipment that needs to be taken
For climbing 1 day (no overnight), bring a rain jacket, flashlight, and enough food and drink.
If you want to camp in the rhino enclosure or square, in addition to the items above, also prepared tents, cooking gear, sleeping bags, mattresses and warm clothes. You can rent gear on at some camping equipment stores in Cibodas. Bring a large plastic bag that can be used for example to bring your garbage back.
